Export packing refers to the specialist packing methods used for international shipments. Unlike domestic removals, goods shipped overseas are subject to much rougher handling loading and unloading at multiple points, long periods in transit, and varying climate conditions. Standard moving boxes simply aren’t built for this. Export packing uses heavier materials, custom timber crates, and securing techniques specifically designed to protect items across sea or air freight.
We use heavy-duty double-walled cardboard boxes, custom-built timber crates for fragile or high-value items, closed-cell foam padding, acid-free tissue paper, polyethylene wrapping, and tamper-evident sealing tape. The exact materials depend on what’s being shipped and the freight method — we’ll advise on the best approach for your specific inventory.
Yes this is one of our specialisms. Antiques, artwork, mirrors, glass, ceramics, and other fragile or high-value items are packed using bespoke crating and specialist materials. We can also arrange additional insurance cover for items of exceptionally high value. Just let us know what you’re shipping and we’ll plan accordingly.
